America’s Got Talent

A show where people from around the country perform, hoping to win the one million dollars; Who wins is based on the viewers votes.

Right now, this is my all time favorite show that I record every Tuesday night and usually watch Wednesday morning.  This coming Tuesday, the 21st of July, is the second judge cuts where only 7/20 acts make it through to the live show, one of which is golden buzzed by the guest judge on the show.

Throughout the auditions, each judge, Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Howard Stern, only gets to push the golden buzzer* once.  Howie buzzed a stuttering comedian, Howard buzzed a dance act that used water, lights, and dance in it, Mel B buzzed a girl who sang Take Me To Church in an AMAZING voice, and Heidi buzzed an 11 year old girl who sang opera and had a very mature voice for her age.

I absolutely LOVE this show!!!!!!*

Chapter 1

The Beginning

         It was a warm summer morning the day I was born.  I could not yet see anything but I could hear whining and I could feel something big and strong.  My mother!  It finally came to me that I was a puppy and I had just awoken from a deep sleep.  I was excited because everything was new and fresh and smelled amazing!

         I tried to walk around for a bit, but I just kept falling over onto this really soft hay type substance which was comforting.  After a while I felt a gurgle in my stomach and knew I was hungry.  I started whining for my mother until she finally came over to where my brother was tackling me and I was able to eat! 
         After my stomach was full, I laid down and tried to go to sleep although it was very hard with my brother tackling me, I rolled over on my back and tried to paw at him even though I couldn't see him.  When he finally stopped I laid down again and fell asleep.

         7 days passed and my eyes finally started to open.  The world was different than I imagined it would be.  I had 3 siblings, 1 brother and 2 sisters, a mom, and some guy who took my mother out a couple of times a day for a walk. 
       I eventually started to eat normal food which tasted amazing, and I played around with some toys that were in our pen.  My mother never really looked at me, she always payed attention to my other siblings because they were much louder than I was and they never really stopped whining or barking.  I was pretty good about keeping to myself and scaring away my siblings that tried to annoy me.  
       My favorite time of day was when the man took us outside to play and when we came back in he would give us each a treat.  That was the only time I was playful really.  I just really loved the outdoors!
         One day when it started to become cool outside, my brother was taken away by a man and a woman with 4 kids.  I was actually happy to see him go! One less distraction to annoy me, I thought to myself. 
         In the next couple of days, both of my sisters got taken and I was as happy as a little puppy could be!  It was just me and my mom hanging out together.  Well, not really.  She started to ignore me even more, like she wanted me out of her life forever!  I was so angry!  I had no one to play with or rest with.  I even started to not eat.

         

Then it happened.

Sorry this chapter took so long to write!!  I have been busy with school!  I will have lots more time over Christmas break though!

Have you ever noticed that when you put a plate of food in the microwave the food on the edges isn't as warm as the rest of it?  Well most probably haven't, but I've found that if you push all of your food towards the middle that it will be nice and warm all around.

Who would have guessed that we were opening bananas the wrong way throughout our lives?  Don't open it using the handle, flip it over and pinch it.  Then when you are enjoying it, you will have a handle to hold it!

OK so let me state a fact first:  The judges were judging REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY HARD.  Especially on bars, and you will know this is true when you see some of my scores.

Here we go:

Vault: 8.875- 5th place

Bars: 7.700

Beam-7.500

Floor-8.050

I got a really good run and pop on both, but I took a small step on both, and because if all my power, the mat slid both times so that was not helpful at all.

Bars:

7.700

I had a really good routine overall. (Not according to the judges, bu according to me)  I had an awesome clear-hip, but I hit my feet on the kip after the clear-hip, which was counted as a fall, so that was .5 off my routine.  My flyaway was also low. It was supposed to be bar height, but it was a little bit lower so probably like .3 off.

Beam

7.500

First of all let me just state that I went for my back-walkover but completely missed both of my feet so there goes .5 off of my routine.  I also had a lot of wobbles, and a couple REALLY big wobbles. My handstand was not all the way up, so that means that I didn't hold it for the 2 seconds that was required.  A good thing is that my jumps were pretty big, and I made my full turn without a major wobble!  I also rushed my dismount and I had a bit of an arch in my back.  Overall, not my best routine, but its OK!

Floor:

8.05

I am a really good tumbler so the first part up until after the front tuck was really good!  My front tuck is so high!  After I did my front tuck, I went to do my back extension roll and accidentally almost did the level 4 finish out of it instead of the level 5 finish!!  In level 4 you stepped out if it into a lunge, but in level 5 you pike down to your knees.  I started to step down out if it, but then I caught myself and went to my knees just in time.  My splits were also not down, and I sorta tripped on my switch leap.  I ended off with a REALLY high back tuck though!!
